Waycross Police responded Thursday afternoon to Memorial Satilla Health to a bomb threat, the second this year.
According to WPD, the threat was received at approximately 5:30 p.m., April 2. Numerous law enforcement personnel were called to the scene, conducting security sweeps, while also using a K-9 unit to search the interior.
WPD Chief Tommy Cox confirmed to the Waycross Journal-Herald a suspect has been identified, while Major and Assistant Police Chief Danny Hampton confirmed a warrant has been secured. As the investigation is ongoing, the suspect’s identity is being withheld.
Memorial Satilla previously received a bomb threat January 25. No injuries were reported during the previous threat.
