WAYCROSS — Barbara Ann Hinnant Gray, 76, of Waycross, went to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, March 17, 2026 at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Gray was born in Waycross to the late James Waldo Hinnant and Allie Mae Albritton Hinnant and made Waycross her home for the past several years. She worked and retired from the Clark County School System for more than 30 years as a router in the transportation department. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her church family. She was proud of her flowers and gardening, and she loved her baby boy “Beau,” her dachshund.
Mrs. Gray loved to sing and play the piano at her church — New Union Church — in Alma. She always loved to tell a joke and make you laugh or tell you something new you may never have known before about the Bible and Jesus.
She was a Sunday School teacher and loved to study the archeological parts of the Bible. She really enjoyed watching shows about the history of the Bible and would love to talk about it.
In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Gray; a sister, Betty Jean Worten, and a brother, Robert Waldo Hinnant.
Mrs. Gray is survived by three children, Sue Henderson, (husband Keith), of Waycross, Jay Yawn of Waycross, and David Allan Gray of Lebanon, Ore.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held March 21 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
