HOBOKEN — Glynn Elroy Lee, 84, of Hoboken passed away Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Northside Hospital in Duluth surrounded by his family after a four-month illness.
Lee was born January 1, 1942 and was the youngest of five children born to Raymond T. Lee and Dollie Medlin Lee. His was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, R.T. Lee, Jr., Eldridge Lee, Marlene Lee Aldridge, and George Lee, as well as his wife of 52 years, Anne Landrum Lee.
He resided in the Schlatterville community his entire life on the Lee family farm at High Bluff. Lee attended Hoboken High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in 1964. He was honorably discharged as a Motor Pool Sergeant in 1970.
He married the love of his life, Anne Landrum, in 1965, and they raised two girls. Lee was born loving the outdoors and had a natural gift working with the land. He joined Seaboard Construction Company at the age of 17 to become a heavy equipment operator. By 1974, Lee had been elevated to foreman status and retired as a superintendent from Seaboard Construction Company in Brunswick after 50 years of service.
He was known throughout Southeast Georgia as the expert “dirt” man. Lee knew the land and which soil could serve as the critical foundation for the highways, interstates and bridges from Savannah to St. Mary’s and everything in between.
Lee was known for his outgoing personality, work ethic, discipline, perseverance and dedication to his family. He was a loving father and husband, and relished being “Papa” to his four grandchildren. He had a natural rhythm which made him a phenomenal dancer. Lee never met a stranger and never missed an opportunity to have a lengthy conversation. He was tough on the surface but had a generous heart and enjoyed helping people. And most importantly, he was a God-fearing servant who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!
Lee is survived by his two daughters, Lynda Lee Smith (Doug) of Johns Creek, Ga., and Cyndee Lee Bonacci of Lawrenceville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Lauryn Smith, Shea Bonacci, Isaac Bonacci, and Phillip Bonacci; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 8) in the Music Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Coleman Peacock. A graveside tribute with Elder Jason Deal presiding will be held at High Bluff Cemetery which adjoins the Lee Farm. Family and friends will gather for a meal at the Lee home following the internment.
Kevin Steedley, Jake Trull, Ridge Lee, Curt Landrum, Mike Bryson, and Sammy Dowling will serve as pallbearers.
