Hoboken woman arrested in Pierce theft case

BLACKSHEAR — A Hoboken woman and a Waycross woman were arrested on theft charges after they allegedly stole money from a local business.

Kathy White, 62, of Hoboken and Felicia Pittman, 55, of Waycross were arr ested last week in conn ection with the theft, according to Pierce County Sheriff Ramsey Bennett.

White was charged with felony Theft by Taking. Pittman has been charged with felony Theft by Taking, Financial Transaction Card Fraud and Criminal Solicitation.

The thefts at the business were first reported in January. An investigation has been underway since that time. The investigation led to the arrest of the women.

Bennett declined additional comment citing the ongoing investigation.

Reports indicate the case involves the theft of a significant amount of money from a business on U.S. Highway 84 in Blackshear. The women were apparently employees of the company.

White has been released on bond. Pittman is currently being held in the Pierce County Jail.
