Fishing rodeo at rec. dept. April 18 

The Ware County Recreation Department holds its annual Youth Fishing Rodeo from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18 at the Trembling Earth Complex, 2119 Cecil Brown Drive.

Youth ages 4-13 are eligible to participate in the free event. Check-in is at 9 a.m.

There will be prizes for the top three participants in the “keep-what-youcatch” competition.

SFW sets Easter Egg hunt April 4 

Southern Forest World, 1440 N. Augusta Avenue, will stage an Easter Egg hunt beginning at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 4.

In addition to the hunt, there will be photo opportunities and familyfriendly fun.

Commissioners set Town Halls 

Waycross City Commissioners William Simmons (District 2) and Alvin Nelson (District 5) will hold a joint Town Hall meeting, at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 29 at The Stephens Venue, 773 Ossie Davis Parkway.

District 1 Commissioner Shawn Roberts holds a similar meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 9 at American Legion John S. Sutton Post 517, 710 Dorothy Street. Special guest will be In Fill Housing, Inc.

The commissioners will discuss issues related to the city and their respective districts.

Legion Post 517 meets April 15

American Legion John S. Sutton Post 517 holds a general membership meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 in the post ballroom, 710 Dorothy Street.

MSH has classes for child birth 

Memorial Satilla Health has scheduled bi-monthly maternity classes and monthly tours of its Birthing Center.

Tours and classes are held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the MSH Birthing Center Conference Room, 1900 Tebeau Street. Those interested can register at memorialsatillahealth.co m/calendar.

Classes are May 18, July 20, September 21 and November 16. Birthing Center Tours remaining are April 7, May 6, June 11, July 10, August 9, September 6, October 12, November 10 and December 11.

Class topics include breastfeeding, Cesarean sections (C-sections), diet and exercise, preparing for labor and delivery, relaxation techniques and vaginal deliveries.
