First Methodist has 3 Easter worships
Waycross First Methodist Church, 410 Williams Avenue, celebrates Easter with services Thursday, April 2 and Sunday April 5.
The church will hold Maundy Thursday worship at 6 p.m. April 2 and programs April 5 for Easter at 7 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.

Comfort Chapel has sunrise worship
Comfort Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, 1600 Cherokee Circle, will have a sunrise service at 7 a.m. Resurrection Sunday, April 5.
Breakfast will follow the early Easter program. Regular worship will be held at 11 a.m.

Pearson churches join for Easter
The twin churches — Pearson Traditional Methodist Church and Historic Kirkland Church — invite guests for an Easter service at 11 a.m., Sunday, April 5 at Pearson Traditional Methodist Church, 54 Roberts Avenue East.
A catered meal in the social hall will follow the worship service, Brother Gary Griffin said. Attendees are welcome to bring desserts for the luncheon, but it’s not nesessary.
There will be an Easter egg hunt following the luncheon. There will be no Sunday School program at Pearson Traditional that day.
Easter-related event set April 2
The Waycross Noonday Pastors invite all community pastors and congregations to a solemn service of prayer, anointing, communion and foot washing at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 2 at Victory Temple Bible Believers Church, 319 W. Blackshear Avenue.
Pastors should respond with name and church via text to (912) 283-5908. Attendees should bring a towel and wear easy-to-remove shoes.
Mother’s Day dinner set May 10
Greater Mount Zion Church will hold a “Queen of My Heart” Mother’s Day dinner Sunday May 10 at the Stephen’s Venue, 773 Ossie Davis Parkway.
Tickets are $50 for adults and $20 for children ages 12-under. There will be two seatings for the dinner, 1-3 p.m. and 3:305:30 p.m.
The dinner will be banquet style with choice of 23 meats as well as a variety of sides and beverages.

The event will feature a “First Ladies” stroll, oldest queen recognition and recognition for the generational queen with the most children present.
DC Downtown has food ministry
DC Downtown Food Ministry offers food items from a 5,000-square foot warehouse at 201 Jenkins Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The ministry serves people from more than a dozen counties in southeast Georgia and northeast Florida.
Way of Cross EPC has food giveaway
Way of the Cross EPC holds a free food and clothing giveaway at 8 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at 512 Lee Avenue.
People should bring a bag or box for items. The first-come, first-served giveaway will next be held April 4.
