app is now ready for download in the Apple store
As part of its ongoing effort to update and modernize its operations, The Blackshear Times has a new, updated app in the Apple store.
Publisher Sandy Head says more new content will begin rolling out on the app each week. “Content like news briefs and church news will be free as a service to the public. Bigger stories will be paid content with different levels of access.”
Head says the app is great for those who don’t want the longterm commitment of a print subscription. A month’s worth of paid content will be available for $7.99. Seven days of access to paid content will also be available for $1.99.
“Some people just want to read one or two specific articles. Some people want to try the paper out before getting a year long subscription. The app gives people options,” says Head.
A version of the app will also be available in the Google Play store for Android users in the near future. If the app proves as popular as Head hopes it will be, similar ones could be made available for the Waycross Journal-Herald and Brantley Beacon.
“Our readers are on the go more than ever,” says Head. “This way they can always take The Times with them.”
