WAYNESVILLE — Two drivers escaped injury Thursday morning when a car ran into the back of a truck on Highway 82.
Georgia State Trooper Richard Lawrence responded to the March 26, 10:50 a.m., accident at Mile Marker 25 involving at 2017 Kia Optima and a 2025 Ford F250 truck.
According to the report of Trooper Lawrence, Tabitha Kilgore, age 36, of a Waynesville address was traveling westbound in her Kia Optima behind the Ford F250 driven by Gregory Belew, age 56, of Waverly, Ga.
The Belew vehicle began slowing in preparation for a left turn. Kilgore’s vehicle failed to reduce its speed, striking the rear of Ford F250. There were no skid marks observed, indicating no attempt to break by Kilgore.
Both vehicles came to rest on Hwy. 82. Neither driver required treatment, according to the report.
