Dreamkeepers raise funds with line dance classes to fund scholarships

The MLK Dreamkeepers hosted a “very successful” Line Dance Class fundraiser Saturday, March 7, in support of the 2026 Cora Bailey and Albert Thompson Scholarship Fund. The event was held at the Edward “Bud” Newton Center, Tyre Bridge Road, Patterson. All proceeds to remain available for the committee’s 2026 scholarship awards.

Middle Georgia’s own line dance instructor, Tiffaney Reid of TR TRU Steppers, conducted the class.

Founded in 2012 by Reid, TR TRU Steppers is a vibrant line dance group in the Middle Georgia area. Reid is a sought after dance instructor.

TR TRU Steppers frequently participates in fundraisers, parades, workshops, line dance conventions, competitions and the popular trail rides that attract dancers from across the region.

Sponsors included 24.7hunt and Mothers Advocacy for Motherhood Access (M.A.M.A.) Corp.

24.7Hunt, founded by Ranar Moody, Jr., is a nationally recognized outdoor organization comprised of young Black men dedicated to raising awareness about the joys and benefits of outdoor activities.

M.A.M.A. Corp. was founded by Angelyca Moody Russell, who serves as the organization’s Executive Director. The nonprofit focuses on supporting mothers— particularly young and first-time mothers—as well as the aunts, grandmothers, and extended family members who often play a vital role in supporting them.

Russell and Moody Jr. are siblings and the children of Waldo and Sherrie Moody, former Pierce Countians.
