Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College ABAC highlights Fall 2025 academic achievements of three students from Pierce County.
Emily Stovall of Blackshear made the President’s List. The President’s Honor List, ABAC’s highest academic recognition, includes students who achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average. To qualify, each student must have earned an A in every course while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Addisyn Hill of Mershon made the Dean’s list. Students named to the Dean’s Honor List earned at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and also completed a minimum of 12 hours of academic coursework.
Claire Weststeyn of Mershon made the Distinguished list. The Distinguished Achievement List recognizes part-time students who completed between six and 11 credit hours and earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Georgia State University
John Cason of Blackshear graduated in Fall 2025 from Georgia State University in Atlanta with an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration.
Georgia Tech
Two Pierce County students were recognized by the Georgia Institute of Technology, or Georgia Tech, one of the top public research universities in the United States, for the Fall 2025 semester.
Madeline White of Blackshear, earned the distinction of Faculty Honors for Fall 2025. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 4.0 academic average for the semester.
Marli Walker of Blackshear, made the dean’s list for the Fall 2025 semester. This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have earned a 3.0 or higher academic average for the semester.
Valdosta State University
Valdosta State University announced the members of its graduating class of Fall 2025. This includes the following area residents: Jeff Braddy of Blackshear earned the Education Specialist in Coaching Pedagogy in Physical Education.
Pamela Bradley of Blackshear earned the Master of Science in Nursing.
Carlos Leggett of Patterson earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems.
Michaela Stone of Blackshear earned the Bachelor of Arts in History and the Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.
Helen Washington of Patterson earned the Master of Education in Adult and Career Education.
Twelve Pierce County residents were also among the 2,300 students named to Valdosta State University's Fall 2025 Dean's List.
Aaliyah Burse, Rebekah Davis, Jade Davlin, Nigeria Hardy, Katlyn Joiner, Alexis Luna, Kenzie Meeks, Layla Melton, Madison Pickett, Michaela Stone and Becky Thigpen of Blackshear all made the Dean’s List as well as Emily Cooper of Patterson.
To qualify for the Dean's List, students must achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an institutional grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Please note that developmental studies, transient, and graduate students are not eligible for dean’s list status.
