BEARVILLE — Pierce County’s eighth-ranked Lady Bears’ soccer program extended their winning streak and shutout streak to eight matches with a pair of home wins.
The regular season region champion Lady Bears (8-3 overall, 5-0 Region 3-AA) blanked Fitzgerald 5-0 Tuesday, March 15 in a non-region match. They followed with an 8-0 victory Friday, March 20 over Appling County.
The Bears (8-3, 3-2) followed with a pair of 32 victories against the Hurricanes and fourthranked Pirates. No information was provided for either match.

Maya Cochran scored a goal and had four assists leading PCHS past the Lady Purple Hurricane.
The Lady Bears grabbed a 1-nil lead when Cochran’s corner kick was headed in by Sylvie Branch. Cochran recorded a goal off an assist from Liza Thornton for a 2-0 lead.
Thornton followed with a goal off a Cochran assist. Brylee Walker netted a goal off a Cochran free kick. Branch rounded out the scoring with a second header off a Cochran corner kick.
The Lady Bears’ defensive effort was led by Addi Jordan, Kaylee Figueroa, Aly Yeomans, Blair Bennett and goalkeeper Isabella Marx. Walker and Branch controlled the midfield, setting the tone throughout the match.

Jayli Sierra and Walker each recorded a hat trick sparking the Lady Bears’ rout of Appling County.
Thornton gave PCHS a quick 1-0 lead scoring in the first 30 seconds. Sierra scored her first goal on a free kick. Her next two goals came off assists from Cochran.
Walker’s three goals were assisted by Thornton, Cochran and Sierra. Thornton scored the final goal on an assist from Jordan.
