Waycross Aglow Lighthouse President Rossie Eskew told worshipers attending the monthly meeting “God is on His throne’ and well-known Christian speaker/community supporter Hope Martin of Blackshear personally verified this.

Martin is a member of Abundant Life Christian Center in Blackshear where she serves on the praise team. She told those gathered of her year of critical health issues, saying, “I will not die, but live and tell what God has done for me.’’

“My doubt, sin and critical health issues were lifted off me,’’ Mrs. Martin said. “We are His. We have made the agreement. Walk with God as we are all called the body of Christ. I was told by my doctor, ‘Go and live your best life. This is because of the light that went into me-life. Because of God’s authority I walk, I am going forward.’’

The vivacious speaker told her audience, “We are active, not watchers. Get out of your seat, your pew, get up and do what God says. He says He will give you authority. All have authority in their own lives, in God’s name. We need to use authority, we need to recognize who we are. We have His full authority, all the time. I was given negative health predictions, but then God started healing me. I was walking in the valley of the shadow of death, but God was there and told me where I was. I walked with God and He lifted me. Faith in God disarms one from fear.’’

In her testimony, Martin commented, “God has granted us all of his love and grace. We walk in authority of God. Satan does not have dominion . You are saved when you go to the altar and accept Christ. Walk in grace. Know who you are. You are not a sinner but who you are in Christ. The enemy’s job is to distract one.

Martin then read scripture from the book of Romans, chapter 6, verses 1—6 and Romans 8, verses 9—10 before continuing. “Fear attracts trauma, but tell fear to get lost. Fear is overcome by faith. I have walked heavy in fear. Through my miracle God intervened to reveal His glory. I was quite sick and saw doctors, had many x-rays. Then I went to church and got saved and healed.’’

Martin thanked her family, friends and doctors who helped her successfully go through what she describes as “my story of miraculous healings, answered prayers and ways the power of God has manifested His perfect will in my life. It hasn’t always been easy, but definitely worth it.’’

Sharing the morning with Martin were her pastor the Rev. Mike Jones and his wife Lorri Jones of Abundant Life Christian Center.

In welcoming the worshipers President Eskew said, “Singing is part of praise and we thank pianist Melanie Hauner for her presentation of Christian songs. Included were songs “This Is Holy Ground,’’ “God Will Make A Way,’’ “I Will Sing of Your Love Forever’’ and “Lord Thank You for Your Love for Me.’’

Hauner presented encouragement written by Barry Bennett focusing on sickness and aging. His faith helped him gain a new perspective on life, she said. She read scripture from the books of Second Corinthians and Romans.

Appreciation was given to Jamie Odom for directing the visual portion of the program.

President Eskew thanked speaker Martin and reminded, “Waycross Aglow Lighthouse meets the second Saturday of each month at Our Beloved Church Bethesda Ministries, located at 1700 Osceola Ave. The meeting begins at 10 a.m. All are welcome.’’
