The Southeast Cancer Unit, a community- driven nonprofit devoted to making a helping those affected by cancer in Brantley, Pierce and Ware counties, recently received a donation from Waycross Bank & Trust ahead of the unit’s spring fundraising event.
The April 24 cancer walk will begin 6 p.m. at Tiger Field in Blackshear. Organizers say the charity event is about more than steps. The walk is meant to raise awareness of cancer, support patients and families, honor survivors and remember those who have gone on. Every team participating helps to show hope and unity in the fight against cancer.
