Jodie Bordine Thrift

Thrift

WAYCROSS — Mrs. Jodie Bordine Thrift, 52, of Waycross, died Friday night, March 20, 2026, at her residence after an extended illness.

She was born in Sturgis, Mich., to the late Richard Bordine, Sr., and Fannie Spicer Bordine. Raised in Michigan until her early teenage years, she moved to Patterson at the age of 13, before eventually settling in Waycross for the remainder of her life.

She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who cherished her role as a homemaker for her family. An avid collector of skulls, she also enjoyed riding her golf cart and going to the races. More than anything, Mrs. Douglas loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Thrift is survived by her husband, Ellie L. Thrift, Sr., of Waycross; six children, Veda Hutchinson (Gerald), Miranda Thrift (Dylan Marcatos), Ellie L. Thrift, Jr., (Breanna Linton), Fannie Thrift (Frederick Mayo, Jr.), Mary Thrift (Ethan Mills), and Wyatt Thrift (Rhonda Hathaway); her grandchildren, Kayelynn, Clayton, Landon, Elizabeth, Remmy, Emmry, Ella, Reba, Kehlani, Nova, Frederick III, Charlotte, and Mable; two sisters, Lisa Bordine of Screven, and Tammie Taylor (Robert) of Patterson, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service was held March 24 at Camp Branch Church of God of Prophecy in Manor. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
