WAYCROSS — Mr. Danny C. Howard, 73, of Waycross, died Tuesday afternoon, March 17, 2026, at Memorial Satilla Health.
Howard was born in Ware County to the late Robert Glen Howard and Betty Vaughn Howard.
A n honorably discharged veteran, Howard served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as Plant Manager from Coca-Cola Bottling Company in July, 2017.
Howard was an active member of Destination Church, where he served on the Security Team.
An avid fisherman, some of the first memories of his daughters were fishing with their dad. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, who cherished each and every moment he was able to spend with his family. He especially loved spending time with his dog “Gordy.”
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Hall Howard, and his grandson, Ethan Pritchard.
Howard is survived by his wife, Jean Howard of Waycross; two daughters, Erine Bennett-Terry and her husband, Nez, of Perry, and Dana Sowell and her husband, Brian, of Bristol; two bonus children, Robin Buford and her husband, Chris, of Statesboro, and Brian Nelson and his wife, Ashley, of St. Johns, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Madison Pritchard-Martenn and her husband, Hayden, McKenzi Whitley, Luke Sowell, Logan Sowell, Elise Sowell, Myra Dell, Wyatt Nelson, and Trexton Nelson; one brother, Robert Howard and his wife, Ruth, of Tampa, Fla.; and numerous other relatives.
A funeral service was held March 20 in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Walkerville Baptist Church Cemetery in Pierce County.
