A fourth person has been arrested in connection to the November homicide of Waycross resident Lawrence Eugene Woods.
Woods, 35, was shot November 29, 2025, in the 1200 block of Isabella Street. Three arrests were made shortly after the incident.
The fourth was Roger Trevon Lee Taylor, 23 of Blackshear, who was arrested Thursday, March 19 by Pierce County Sheriff’s Office personnel, acc ording to a Waycross Pol ice Department press release.
About 5 p.m., March 19, members of WPD’s Special Operations Section developed information regarding the location of an additional suspect in the Woods murder, and responded to Pierce County with an arrest warrant, the release said.
Taylor was arrested by the Pierce County authorities before being transferred into the custody of WPD officials. Taylor was booked into Ware County Jail on murder charges, where he remains after bond was denied.
The investigation into Woods’ death remains active, authorities said.
Two of the three men charged earlier in the murder have homicide charges in their pasts.
Willie Daquan Edwards, 27, and Keitric Trevon McCaskey, 31, are facing or have faced other murder charges. Alex Jamal Taylor, 28, was the third suspect arrested and charged.
Taylor was arrested in the early morning hours of November 30, while Edwards was apprehended December 1, and Mc-Caskey December 10, Capt. Trent Gibbs, Commander of the Special Operations Unit said earlier. Edwards was out on bond at the time of the death of Woods, Gibbs said.
WPD officers answered a call around 9:30 p.m., November 29, 2025 for a possible shooting in the 1200 block of Isabella Street. Upon arrival, officers found a man later identified as Woods suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The officers called Ware EMS and provided emergency care until their arrival. EMS personnel assumed care of the victim and transported him to the hospital’s emergency room, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
