WAYCROSS — Mr. Jacob Garrett Cothern, 35, passed away suddenly Friday, March 13, 2026 in Waycross.
Cothern was born in Ware County to E.D. Cothern and Drucila Nettles. He was employed with the City of Waycross as a storm and sanitation maint enance operator and was a member
Cothern
of Bethesda Fellowship. He was a dedicated husband.
In addition to his mother, Cothern was also preceded in death by his brother, Tyson Cothern.
He is survived by his wife, Buffy Cothern of Waycross; step-daughter, Elizabeth Anderson of Waycross; a step-son, Michael Anderson II of Hoboken; his father, E.D. Cothern (Kathy) of Waycross; five nieces and nephews, Emma Cothern, June Cothern, Eli Cothern, Braylon Cothern, and Grant Cothern; a brotherin- law, Randy Herrin (Monica) of Jesup; and a sister-in-law, Ronda Ann (Buster) of Alma.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Bethesda Fellowship in Waycross.
