Commuters traveling west into Ware County March 10 met with a frustrating sight.
Traffic had come to a dead stop and was backed up from the Satilla River Bridge, well past the Dollar General in Pierce County across from the old Farr’s Furniture Store. According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred at roughly 7:51 a.m.
All three vehicles involved in the accident were heading east, when the front vehicle, driven by Sampson Baton, stopped to make a left-hand turn.
The rear-most vehicle, driven by Hannah Blanton, rear-ended the car of Nava Valente, who was behind Baton, causing a three-way rear-end mishap.
No serious injuries were reported, but the collision took a while to clear.
Both Blanton and Valente were charged with driving too close, and Valente was additionally charged with driving unlicensed.
