Local NAACP sets meeting schedule The Waycross chapter of the NAACP holds a meeting each month for its executive board and general membership.
The executive board meeting is at 5:30 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the Waycross-Ware County Public Library, 401 Lee Avenue. The general meeting is the fourth Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at New Mount Pleasant Church, 901 Ossie Davis Parkway.
Upcoming meetings are March 26 for the membership and April 2 for the executive board.
Sheriff James has egg hunt Saturday Ware County Sheriff Carl James holds his annual free Easter Egg Hunt from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 21 on the grounds of the Sheriff’s Office, 3487 Harris Road.
All children ages 11under are eligible. The hunt begins at 10:45 with the youngest age group.
Lunch will be provided and pictures with the Easter Bunny available.
Voter registration drive on March 28 Love Feeds, Inc., will stage a voter registration drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 28 at E.E. Moore Park.
In addition to registering to vote, citizens can check their voter status, update information, request a ballot to vote by mail, get election information and any voting-related questions answered.
Lunch will be served. Last day to register for the May 19 Primary is April 20.
‘No Kings’ protest slated March 28 Indivisible Satilla will stage the area’s third “No Kings” protest from 1 to 3 p.m. at 1912 Memorial Drive.

Unison schedules 2 March meetings Unison Behavioral Health has meetings scheduled this month on March 23 for the audit committee of its board of directors and March 30 for the directors.
The audit panel’s meeting will be at 2 p.m. in the Unison board room, 107, Mary Street.
The directors session will be at noon in the Unison training room, 1003 Mary Street.
