MSH honors residents on special day

Special to the WJH Memorial Satilla Health recognized its nine resident physicians last week as part of “Thank A Resident Day.”

The national celebration February 27 honors those who are advancing their medical careers while delivering highquality, compassionate care to patients across the community. The day recognizes the vital role residents play in patient care and the future of medicine.

“As a teaching hospital, we’re incredibly proud of our residents and the commitment they demonstrate every day,” said Caitlyn Smith, Program Administrator of the Family Medicine Rural Track Residency Program at MSH. “Their passion for learning, their dedication to our patients and their drive to continually grow as physicians, strengthen our organization and di-rectly benefit the community. ‘Thank A Resident Day’ gives us a wonderful opportunity to recognize the meaningful impact they make.”

The hospital’s residents are Drs. Daniel Amador, Eric Belcher, Laura Henein, Breveenn Kukan, Madhavi Madupuri, Kimberly Mathurin, Carlos Ojeda, Mary Catherine Barnes Stewart and Joseph You.

MSH’s residency program is part of HCA Healthcare’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) network.

“Our residents are exceptional clinicians who bring knowledge, compassion and fresh perspectives to patient care,” Smith added. “They’re not only developing their clinical expertise but also building meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues.”

Residents at MSH benefit from hands-on training, mentorship from experienced physicians and access to resources of the GME program.
