Former Pierce County Manager Raphel Maddox has been named the sole finalist for City Manager for the City of Americus in southwest Georgia.
By law, governments must wait 14 days before finalizing a selection when hiring managers. The Americus City Council has set a meeting for March 20. Maddox is expected to take the job.
Maddox resigned as Pierce County Manager effective January 1 after serving as Pierce County's manager since October, 2023.
