Thinclads compete at 10-team Vidalia meet

VIDALIA — Pierce County’s track teams competed here Thursday in 10-team events hosted by Vidalia High School.

The Lady Bears finished seventh in the field with 27 points. The host Lady Indians ran away with the title piling up 184.5 points. They were followed by Liberty County (96), Veterans (80), Metter (64), Telfair County

(62), Long County (59.5), Groves (36), PCHS, Wayne County (22) and Jenkins County (18).

Saharah Minott recorded the Lady Bears’ best finish recording a third-place showing in the shot put. The

4x100-meter relay team logged a fourth-place finish.

The Bears placed fifth, totaling 40 points with the host Indians completing the sweep with 191 points. Vidalia was followed by Veterans (122), Long County

(109), Liberty County (75), PCHS, Metter (34), Wayne County (29), Groves (21), Telfair County (19) and Jenkins County (17).

Amir McKenzie captured the high jump event for the boys’ best showing.
