Luke William Spicher

NEWNAN, Ga. — Surrounded by his loving family, Luke William Spicher, 46, of Newnan, Ga., passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Spicher was the son of Ron and Cheryl (Modaff are) Spicher, also of Newnan.

He was born Nov ember 27, 1979, i n DuBois, Pa., and attended DuBois Area Schools.

A graduate of the DAHS Class of 1998, Spicher went on to graduate with honors from the IUP Culinary Arts Academy. He did his externship at the Cloister at Sea Island Resort along the Georgia coast.

After leaving Sea Island, Spicher joined the Brantley County School District as Route Coordinator and bus driver. He later took the position of Route Coordinator in Coweta County, southwest of Atlanta, from 2013 to the present.

Spicher coordinated bus routes for the 33 Coweta County schools, which include 200 drivers and 23,000 students. Beloved by his student riders and his co-workers, Spicher’s presence will be greatly missed.

He enjoyed celebrating the holidays, going on vacation in the Outer Banks, and shopping with his family, traveling and camping with his buddy, Wiley, decorating his home, and relaxing at his home away from home in Lake Placid, Fla.

Spicher was a special young man and those whose lives he touched will never forget, but forever miss his smile, his compassionate nature, and his love for family and friends.

Spicher was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents, Raymond and Claribel Spicher; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Marjorie Modaffare; uncle, James Modaffare; and cousin, Jonathan Spicher.

Spicher is survived by his parents, Ron and Cheryl Spicher; his sister, Lindsay Campbell; his best friend, Wiley Crews; uncle Mark Modaffare and partner, Joe Torrell of State College, Pa.; aunt Marsha Modaffare-Nye (Ron) of Latrobe, Pa.; uncle Dennis Spicher (Louise) of Baton Rouge; and numerous cousins.

Internment was in New Hope Cemetery in Nahunta Sunday, March 15.
