Shelah Armeé Sweat Burdette, 49, of Albany, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
She was born March 13, 1976, in Albany, to Jeanne Brown Sweat and the late Daniel Gordon “DG” Sweat. She was a registered nurse. Her two children were her pride and joy. Just the mention of their names always brought a smile to her face. Her family and loved ones choose to remember their happier times and memories with Shelah.
She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Gordon “DG” Sweat.
Survivors include her mother, Jeanne B. Sweat, Cairo; her children, Brantley Armeé Burdette and Beau Lanier Burdette both of Albany; father of her children, Brian Earl Burdette, Albany; sisters, Shanda Pyrz (Drew) and Susan Sweat, both of Cairo; nephews, Koby Pyrz (Katie), Athens, Eli Pyrz, Columbus, Cade Culbreath, Cairo and a great-niece, Wyatt Pyrz, Athens.
The family will have a private memorial service.
