HORTENSE — Bobby G. Ward, 89 of Hortense,
Ward
passed away Sunday morning, March 1, 2026, at his residence after an extended illness.
Ward was born in Brunswick to Horace and Ola Miller Ward. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lill ian Holmes Ward; four brothers and a sister.
Ward retired from Hercules as an engineer after 26 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, mechanicing, sitting around the fire, and doing anything outdoors.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Ward, Jr. (Peggy) of Hortense, Glenn Ward of Hortense and William Ward of Hortense; two daughters, Jean Cravey of Brunswick and Mary Lewis (Gerald) of Raybon; one sister, Mary Stewart (Harold) of Corpus Christi, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Pastor Luke Harrison officiating.
Burial followed in Lane Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bob Ward, Bobby Scott, Mitch Ward, James Johnson, Don Edenfield and Ray Hodge.
Arrangements were with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
