WAYNESVILLE – Russell Taylor Bennett, 44 of Waynesville, passed away Thursday morning, March 5, 2026 at Hospice of the Golden Isles after an extended
illness.
Born in Brunswick, his parents were William Mc-Dade and Ruby Rowe Mc-Dade. Bennett was also preceded in death by his mat ernal grandmother, Bertha Rowe; and his best friend, Ryan Williams.
Bennett was a maintenance manager for Coastline Plastics and of the Christian faith. He was a family man who loved spending time with his family and had given his Bennett
life to the Lord.
Bennett was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan, a major history buff and loved sitting by a fire, shooting guns, cooking, smoking meat, fishing and riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include a son, Beau Bennett (fiancé, Felicity Greene) of Nahunta; a daughter, Linzee Bennett (fiancé, Dylan Rowell) of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Brittan Bennett, Baylor Bennett and Blythe Bennett; a brother and sister-in-law, Tim McDade (Rachel) of Hortense; a sister and brother-in-law, Tracie Aspinwall (Jerry) of Brunswick; niece, Courtney McDade; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Friday, March 13, 2026 service starting at 10 a.m., at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., at the chapel of Frye Funeral with Rev. Kevin Carlberg officiating.
A private burial will be held in Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Aspinwall, Tim McDade, Beau Bennett, Richard Brown, Dylan Rowell and Dawton Rowell.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
