PCHS tennis teams open with sweep

Bears and Lady Bears tennis enjoyed a successful season opener Thursday, February 2 winning over Jeff Davis. The PCHS boys won 4-1, while the girls chalked up a 3-2 match victory.

Jeb Bradley won at number 1 boys’ singles for the Bears, winning 6-2, 6-2. J.C. Nimmer scored victory at number 2 singles, (4-6, 6-4, 11-9). Aaden Carlson competed at number 3 singles, coming up short in three sets (7-5, 3-6, 10-12). The number 1 doubles combo of Davis Hersey and Grayson Rodgers won, 6-2, 7-5. The number 2 duo of Peyton Thoompson and Garrett Page won 6-1, 6-3.

Grace Christopher won the number 1 singles point for the PCHS girls, 6-4, 6-1. Rebecca Tyre fell short in number 2 singles (1-6, 1-6). Maura Kate Waters competed at  number 3 singles, (4-6, 2-6). The number 1 doubles combo of Taylor Sikes and Marli Walker won in three sets (6-2, 3-6, 10-7). The number 2 doubles team of Mattie Lee and Jasmine Sergent won, 6-1, 6-1).
