WAYCROSS — Kimberly Chancey McCorvey, 46, of Waycross, died Tuesday afternoon March 3, 2026, at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness.
She was born in Tyler, Texas, to the Rev. Chester Chancey and Bonnie Strickland Chancey. Mrs. Chancey was a 1997 graduate of Ware County High School, and graduated from Valdosta State University in 2008 with a degree in psychology.
Mrs. Chancey worked as a licensed counselor until the birth of her first child. She then stayed home to focus on being the best mother she could be to her two children, Courson and Collins. Her children were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment as their mother. She was a member of Hosanna Church.
Mrs. Chancey was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Chancey; her daughter, Stella McCorvey; her father-in-law, Tommy McCorvey; and her brother-in-law, Kodi McCorvey.
She is survived by her husband, Kori McCorvey of Waycross; two children, Courson and Collins McCorvey; her father, the Rev. Chester Chancey of Waycross; two brothers, Chuck Chancey and his wife, Amy, of Waycross, and Timmy Chancey of Columbus, Miss.; nieces and nephews, Dylan Chancey, Brandon Chancey, Erica Elkin and her husband, Mitch, Ches Chancey and his wife, Brynnan, Kali McCorvey, Violet McCorvey, Brogan McCorvey; her mother-inlaw, Julia McCorvey of Waycross; grandmothers, Betty McCorvey and Georgia Courson, both of Waycross; and numerous other relatives.
A private family service will be held.
