Crawford attends meeting at State Capitol
Members of the Fraternal Order of Police gathered in State Capitol on February 26, joining state lawmakers and Governor Kemp for Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.
One of those members was Bryan Crawford, President of the Fraternal Order of Police Community Supervision Lodge 119 in Waycross.
“The Fraternal Order of Police improves the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve through education, legislation, community involvement, and legal defense,” Crawford explained.
Attendees of the event spoke with lawmakers, dis-cussing various pieces of legislation focusing on various issues, including retirement benefits, such as reinstating cost-of-living adjustments to state retirees. Other pieces of legislation discussed included creating specialty license plates for those with autism/developmental disabilities, as well as creating a statutory 25-foot area around all first responders, after giving a warning while rendering aid.
