UGA Extension to host pesticide training class Pierce County will host a Using Pesticides Wisely (UPW) training class 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the UGA Extension Office at 705 College Avenue in Blackshear.

The training sessions are sponsored by the Georgia Department of Agriculture and UGA Extension.

Pageants to be held March 14 at PCHS The Miss Spirit of Pierce, Miss PCMS, and Miss PCHS Pageants will be held Saturday, March 14, at the PCHS auditorium.

Email any competition cheerleader or contact [email protected] to have a registration form emailed to you or if you have any questions.

Proceeds will benefit the Pierce County High School Competition Cheerleaders.

Wings and Things Festival in Douglas March 21 The fourth annual Wings and Things Festival and Fly-In takes off 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at the Douglas Municipal Airport (KDQH). This familyfriendly event offers free entry and a full day of aviation, attractions and activities for all ages Wings and Things features antique airplanes, military vehicles, WWII reenactors, arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, a kids play area, and live music throughout the day. Guests can also enjoy the popular Hot Wing Contest and car show.

Dogwood Festival in Jesup, March 21 The Wayne County Arts Council (WCAC) is hosting the Dogwood Festival again this year. The Dogwood Festival will take place 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. March 21 in Jesup.

The Dogwood Festival is in its 49th year. The event offers live local entertainment, handcrafted arts and crafts, awesome food vendors and much more.
