The Blackshear Rotary Club recently welcomed Pierce County High School senior and STAR Student, Belle Sinclair and STAR Teacher Becky King as guests. Sinclair was also joined by her parents, Chris and Amanda Sinclair. B. Sinclair is a student whose academic excellence, leadership involvement and athletic success have distinguished her among her peers. Most notably she was selected as PCHS STAR Student, a recognition awarded to the senior with the highest SAT score. Throughout her high school career, Sinclair demonstrated a commitment to excellence both in and out of the classroom. In addition to her scholastic accomplishments, she has taken on numerous leadership roles and remained actively involved in athletics, showcasing an ability to balance rigorous academics with extracurricular commitments.
During her visit, Sinclair shared insights about her academic journey and the mentors who have influenced her success such as STAR Teacher, Becky King. King was recognized for the impact she made upon Sinclair’s academic journey. King spoke very highly of Sinclair’s commitment to excellence, her strong work ethic and her drive to succeed. She praised Sinclair for her character and determination.
Rotary Club members said they were inspired by the meaningful partnership between student and teacher, and the positive influence educators continue to have on the lives of local students. The Blackshear Rotary Club continues to recognize outstanding students who exemplify leadership, service and academic excellence within the community.
