NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Carl Eugene McMullen, age 88, of New Castle, Pa., passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at UPMC Mercy Hospital, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born Dec. 3, 1937, in Mapleton, Pa., McMullen was the son of the late Edward D. and Thelma G. (Clevinger) McMullen.
He married Dorothy L. Pharr of Waycross on Sept. 17, 1961. They were married for 64 years. Mrs. McMullen survives at home.
McMullen was a member of the Shippensburg Area High School Class of 1955. He was a member of the United States Air Force for 21 years, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. He then worked in civil services for the U.S. Army for 13 years.
He enjoyed hunting, and was a member of the Lion’s Club, the American Legion Honor Guard, and the Air Force Sergeant Association.
Along with his parents, he also was preceded in death by five siblings.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward (Nancy) Mc-Mullen of New Castle; a daughter, Teri Martin of Wilmington, N.C.; and one grandchild, Hayden Martin.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
