The Sgt. Kennedy L. Sanders Purple Run 5K and Kids Fun Dash will be held Friday, March 6, in conjunction with the city’s “First Friday.”
Registration is at 4 p.m. followed by the 5K at 5 p.m. and kids’ run at 5:30. Entry fee is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the run. Participants are encouraged to wear purple, Sanders’ favorite color.

Proceeds benefit the Sgt. Kennedy L. Sanders Foundation, named in honor of the late U.S. Army Reservist killed by a drone attack in late January, 2024, while deployed with her unit in remote Jordan.
The foundation supports local youth and community initiatives.
