Library holding 2-day book sale Fri.-Sat.
NAHUNTA — The Brantley County Library is holding a two-day book sale.
The event starts Friday, March 6 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Times for Saturday, March 7 are from 9 a.m.12 p.m.
Baked goods will also be sold.
The library is located at 14046 Cleveland Street East.
Satilla Riverkeeper member paddle Sat.
NAHUNTA — The Satilla Riverkeeper member paddle is scheduled for Saturday, March 7 at the Hwy. 301 landing.
Everyone is asked to meet at 9 a.m., with a 9:30 departure upstream and a float back to the launch site.
Garden class to be held Sat., March 7
WAYCROSS — A Learn to Grow with a Tower Garden Class is being offered Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the WayGreen House located at 1929 Ben Hill Avenue in Waycross.
The class is being instructed by Kathy Cox, a local gardner and instructor who wrote From Seed to Success.
Schools asking for ‘gently used books’
NAHUNTA — Brantley County Schools are holding a “Little Libraries Book Campaign.”
Drop off any gently used books at the Brantley County Board of Education office located at 272 School Circle to be distributed to little libraries around the county.
Extension/4-H selling Vidalia Onions
NAHUNTA — The Brantley County Extension/ 4-H department is holding a Vidalia Onion fundraiser.
A 10-lb. bag is $13.
Orders are due by March 26, 2026 with a pickup in late April or early May at the Brantley County Extension Office, 10303 North Main Street in Nahunta.

NAHUNTA — The Brantley County Extension/ 4-H department is holding a Peaches fundraiser.
A 1/4 bushel of Freestone Peaches, approximate weight of 11-13 lbs., is $28. Orders are due by April 21, 2026 with a pickup in late June at the Brantley County Extension Office, 10303 North Main Street in Nahunta.

HES Miss Hoboken Elementary pageant
HOBOKEN — Hoboken Elementary School is holding its annual Miss Hoboken Elementary beauty pageant Saturday, March 14 at 2 p.m.
There are four catagories — Pre K-K: Wee Miss Hoboken Elementary, 1st-2nd grade: Tiny Miss Hoboken Elementary, 3rd-4th grade: Junior Miss Hoboken Elementary, and 5th-6th grade: Miss Hoboken Elementary.
The entry fee is $45 for beauty only and $65 for beauty and options.

Hospice Satilla’s ‘Cowboys for Kids’
WAYCROSS — Hospice Satilla’s Junior Board of Directors & Roll the Dice Productions are presenting Cowboys for Kids Friday, March 20 at 5 p.m.
The event will be held at the Ware County Saddle Club located at 2700 Cherokee Street.
There will be arts & crafts, food vendors, a photo booth, pony rides, train ride, face painting, a mechanical bull, bounce houses, games, meltdown and a petting zoo.
The cost is $5 at the gate for ages two-and-up.
Annual Heron Hustle set for Sat., March 21
NAHUNTA — The Brantley County Special Education Program will host its annual Heron Hustle 5K/Fun Run Saturday, March 21, 2026.
The event is held at the Nahunta Primary/Elementary gym. Registration opens at 7:30 a.m. The 5K run/walk starts at 8:30 a.m., with the Fun Run at 9:30 a.m. The awards ceremony is at 10 a.m.

WVFD holding Easter Egg hunt March 21
WAYNESVILLE — The Waynesville Volunteer Fire Department is holding an Easter Egg Hunt for children 3 to 14 years of age Saturday, March 21 at Waynesville Primary School.
Hunt times for ages 3-5 years old begins at noon. Ages 6-9 years of age starts at 1 p.m. Ages 10-14 begins at 2 p.m.
There will be a smoke house, foam party, cake walk, kids’ training course and “Touch a Truck”. There will be free popcorn at the recruitment table.
Concessions will be available.
WVFD announces ‘Touch a Truck’ event
WAYNESVILLE — The Waynesville Volunteer Fire Department is holding a free “Touch a Truck” event Saturday, March 21, 2026 from noon- 3p.m. at Waynesville Primary School.
“Touch a Truck” is a family event providing children of all ages the opportunity to experience life-sized emergency vehicles and a chance to interact with community leaders.
There will be free food including hot dogs, bbq sandwiches, cotton candy, chips, popcorn and drinks.
There will be a smoke house, firefighter obstacle course, a six-foot fire hydrant sprinkler, foam machine and fire trucks galore.
