Trial date to be set soon for father-son duo

Bryants await court date for Guess murder

The murder trial of a father-son duo Tracy Bryant Sr. and Tracy Bryant Jr. could be held as soon as the April court term.

The case shows up on a calendar call listing for superior court March 11, but Clerk of Court Melissa Howard said the proceeding would be a scheduling hearing.

Pierce County’s next time frame for criminal trials will be the last of March and first of April, September and the last part of October and early November.

Bryant Sr. and Bryant Jr., both of Waycross, were indicted in March of 2025 for the October 17, 2024 murder of Kimberly Guess of Blackshear. Both men were arrested in December, 2024.

Both have been charged with felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a Bryant Jr. was additionally indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the warrants, Bryant Jr. “intentionally aided and abetted” his father in the murder.

The Bryants are being represented by Sarah Lewis of the Waycross Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office.

Bryant Sr. was Guess’s supervisor at her job at Clayton Homes in Waycross. The pair had also been romantically involved, but Guess had recently broken off the relationship.

Guess, 34, was murdered in front of her home in the 800 block of Ware Street as she walked out to her car.

Bryant Sr. and Bryant Jr. are currently being held in the Ware County Jail.
