Pierce County split its opening Region 3-AA affair against Savannah Arts Academy.
The 1-0 victory Friday, February 20 was the first of the year for the ninthranked Lady Bears (1-3 overall, 1-0 region) and first loss for the top-ranked Lady Panther (3-1, 0-1). PCHS fell 2-0 to visiting Camden County in the season opener (February 10).
The Lady Bears dropped a home-andhome series to Frederica Academy losing 4-1 (February 13) on St. Simons Island and 5-2 at home (February 17).
PCHS’s goal against Savannah Arts Academy off the foot of Emma Strickland from a Liza Thornton assist. The Lady Bears held the Panthers’ Brooklyn Linstroth, who came in with 15 goals in three games, scoreless.
The Bears (2-2, 0-1) fell 1-0 to the Panthers ending a two-match winning streak. After losing 6-0 to Camden County to start the season, PCHS swept Frederica Academy winning 4-1 and 4-0.
