Memorial Satilla honors Zoie Johnson, RN
Post-partum nurse Zoie Johnson earned the DAISY Award after being nominated by several patients.

Zoie Johnson of Blackshear was recently awarded the DAISY Award at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.

Johnson, a post-partum nurse, was nominated by multiple patients for her exceptional hands-on care and heartfelt compassion. One new mother shared, “Zoie is now a part of my family! She was the best a mother could ask for.” From the moment of delivery, Zoie ensured the mother, her newborn and her two other children received attentive, personalized care. She made certain her patient was able to rest, remained reassured throughout her stay and felt completely supported.

In a second nomination, a patient recovering from a partial hysterectomy described Zoie as “the absolute best,” praising her for being sweet, attentive and consistently warm and inviting. Both families emphasized that Zoie went above and beyond, making the hospital feel more like home.

The DAISY Award is an international recognition program to honor nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence and extraordinary compassionate care. Zoie’s commitment to treating every patient like family embodies the true spirit of the award.

“Zoie exemplifies the heart of Memorial Satilla Health,” said Jen Weaver, Chief Nursing Officer. “Her compassion, empathy and unwavering commitment to our patients and families reflect the highest standards of care. We are incredibly proud to have team members who not only provide excellent clinical and support services, but who also bring comfort, reassurance and light during life’s most challenging moments.”
