The Citadel

Davis Byrd of Blackshear, is among the more than 90 cadets recognized for their outstanding work during the fall 2025 semester at the Citadel in Charleston, SC.

The honors list is composed of cadets who contribute the most to their companies while maintaining excellent military and academic records.

Approximately 30% of graduating cadets earn commissions into military service. The Citadel is only one of two remaining 24/7 military-structured colleges in the United States, other than the federal academies.

University of Mississippi

Two Blackshear students were recently named to the Fall 2025 Honor Roll at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, MS.

Campbell Strickland, in the B.B.A. in Management program, is on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.754.0.

Truett Sergent, in the B.A. in Biological Science program, is on the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, which is reserved for students who earn a semester GPA of 3.754.0.

To be eligible for honor roll designation, a student must have completed at least 12 graded hours for the semester and may not be on academic probation during the semester.

The University of Mississippi, affectionately known as Ole Miss, is the state’s flagship university.
