Dueling Pianos struck the right chord and provided more than three hours of nonstop entertainment at Blackshear’s Historic Train Depot Saturday night.
Crowd favorite Joe Jarka and his talented colleague took their seats behind the baby grands and “tickled the ivories” late into the evening. From classic rock anthems and country music hits to audience-requested throwbacks, the duo kept the energy high and the crowd singing along from the first note to the final encore.
The event is sponsored by Better Hometown Blackshear.
The 21-and-over event drew attendees from across Pierce County and surrounding communities, with every table filled and standing room scarce. Guests clapped, danced and eagerly submitted song requests, creating the interactive, high-energy atmosphere that has made the Dueling Pianos night one of Better Hometown Blackshear’s most anticipated annual events.
“This event continues to grow each year,” shared Main Street/Better Hometown Blackshear manager Bethany Strickland. “Seeing the depot completely full and watching everyone laugh, sing, and make memories together is exactly what downtown events are all about.”
Beyond the music, the evening showcased the power of communitydriven events to bring people downtown, support local revitalization efforts and highlight one of Blackshear’s most treasured historic venues. Proceeds from the event support Better Hometown Blackshear’s ongoing downtown development initiatives, helping fund beautification projects, promotions and future community programming.
Organizers say plans are already underway for next year’s event—and if Saturday night was any indication, tickets will go fast.
