PATTERSON — Looking for a venue to host a wedding, reception, shower, reunion or other social event?
Patterson’s Eagle Station offers just that with plenty of amenities and extras.
The old Patterson High School facility was renovated, repurposed and reopened in 2012 as a multi-purpose facility.
The station houses Patterson’s city government, an art gallery and a veterans museum in addition to three venues for hosting events.
“We invite everyone to have their event at Eagle Station,” said Emily Hadaway, public relations coordinator for the City of Patterson. “We’d love to host you and your guests. I think it makes a lovely venue for receptions, meals and special events.”
Still, she warns that you better book ahead if you are thinking about holding an event there.
“We already have almost every weekend booked through May,” she said.
Bennet and Caroline Oliver had 250 guests in attendance for their wedding reception at Eagle Station during the Christmas season.
The Olivers hosted family and friends for a holiday festive gathering.
The couple said having the reception at Eagle Station was an important part of their special day.
“Everything was perfect for our special day,” said Mrs. Oliver. “Our wedding day was full of peace, love and lots of Christmas joy!”
Currently, Eagle Station is hosting its annual Yee Haw fundraiser, which helps to support maintenance, upkeep and improvements.
Eagle Station features the Clara Echols Auditorium, the Richard Griffis Brick Room and the Courtyard for social events. There is also a warming kitchen and extra space in the city council chambers.
Those using the facility have commented on how well organized everything is there.

“We take that as a compliment,” said Hadaway.
She also notes reservations are economical, too.
Venue packages include an all-inclusive package for all facilities for $3,000. The Clara T. Echols package is $1,800 and the Richard Griffis Rustic Package is $1,000. There are also a la carte packages which can be created to meet individual needs.
The Echols auditorium and warming kitchen are available for $925 and the Echols Auditorium only is available for $750. The Richard Griffis Brick Room is available for $400 and the art gallery is $250. The city council chambers is available for $150 while the courtyard is also available for $150.
All rooms are rented as is. A security deposit of $250 with half of the rental fee is due at the signing of the contract for reservation of the venue.
Eagle Station was formerly the Patterson High School. Constructed in 1931, the school closed in 1981 and merged with Blackshear to form Pierce County High School.
Improvements on the facility were done using the 2008 SPLOST )special purpose local option sales tax).
Those interested in renting the facility must sign a contract. Information on renting is available at the city hall offices at Eagle Station located at 3507 Williams Street in Patterson. Information is also available by calling city hall at (912) 647-5776.
