Emmanuel International Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 600 Genoa Street, this week celebrates the 36th Pastoral Anniversary of Bishop Dr. Michael-Angelo James with special worship programs and a banquet.
The observance will be Thursday-Sunday, February 26-March 1. Weeknight programs will be at 7 p.m. with the Sunday’s worship at 11 a.m.
The banquet will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Stephen’s Venue, 773 Ossie Davis Parkway. Tickets are $75 per person with attire colors gold, cream and white.
Theme for the celebration, which will have a variety of guest ministers, is “Still Standing, Still Serving, Still Shepherding, and Still Shifting Generations.”
In December 1989, Bishop Dr. James accepted the call to serve as full-time pastor of the former Grant Chapel/New Grant Chapel, now known as Emmanuel’s International Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.
Dr. Torrey Phillips, Senior Pastor of New Life Church in Valdosta, and Rod Swinson, Senior Pastor at Family Worship Center in Waycross will be the speakers for the Thursday and Friday worships.
James Harris, Executive Pastor of Church of God in Claxton will deliver the message Sunday with dinner to follow the service.
The ECI congregation invites the community to participate in the celebration.
