Brantley County High School senior Mason Edholm has been recognized as BCHS’s 2026 STAR Student.
The son of Gary Edholm and Tabbitha Nowling, the younger Edholm is currently ranked third in a class of 203 seniors and sports a 4.0 GPA (grade point average).
The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia’s highest-achieving high school seniors and the teachers most instrumental in their academic development. The STAR program is sponsored by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE).
Edholm selected Brantley County High School Band Director Noah Jackson as his STAR Teacher. It marks the second consecutive year Jackson has been chosen as STAR Teacher by one of his band students.

The BCHS senior has been accepted to both the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech for Fall 2026. He plans to pursue a degree in Engineering at Georgia Tech.
Edholm was chosen as a District Honor Band Member from his freshman year through his junior year. He was also a Region Honor Band Member grades 9-11th. Edholm has been a member of the Heron Pride Marching Band for four years and school Jazz Band for three years.
In addition to his musical talents, Edholm also serves on his Church Praise Band and Symphonic Band, and his local Community Jazz Band.
Jackson has been band director of the BCHS Heron Pride Band for six years. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia and was also a member of the Red Coat Marching Band.
Jackson completed his Masters Degree at Georgia College & State University and is currently working on his Doctorate Degree with Liberty University.
