BLACKSHEAR — Mr. Johnny Lang Herrin, 76 of Blackshear, passed away Friday afternoon, February 13, 2026 at Hospice Satilla Hospice House following an extended illness.
Born July 29, 1949, in Hattiesburg, Miss., Herrin was a son of the late Walter and Hazel Dixon Herrin. He lived most of his life in Valdosta and retired after 42 years as a long-distance truck driver for Brannon Trucking Company. Herrin had lived in Pierce County for the past three years and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Herrin was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Herrin; a son, Timothy Herrin; three brothers, Gerald Herrin, William Herrin and Walter Herrin; and a daughter in-law, Jessica Sapp.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Revels Herrin of Blackshear; two daughters, Kimberly Herrin of Valdosta and Calista Moore of Nahunta; four sons, Ralph Herrin (wife Keisha) and Johnny L. Herrin, Jr. (wife Kay), both of Valdosta, Thomas Sapp (wife Lynn) of Waycross and Logan Sapp of Hortense; a daughter-inlaw, Melissa Herrin of Valdosta; 17 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; sister, Jimmie Mock (husband Charles) of Clyattville, Ga.; and a brother, Donald Herrin of Clyattville, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
