‘Great Blue Heron’ headed to Governor’s office

‘Great Blue Heron’ headed to Governor’s office

I finally got word last week to bring my “Great Blue Heron in the Okefenokee” photo to the Governor's office in Atlanta February 25 at 3 p.m.

It was originally sel ected last year, but the Govern or’s office was in the middle o f being remodeled. About half of the Georgia Council of the Arts contest winners were told to wait until 2026 because there was not enough room to hang all of the winning photos at one time.

Mine was one of the ones pushed back to 2026. Now that the remodeling has been completed, I have been getting updates since early January and finally received a definite date and time to have it there to get pictures with Governor Brian Kemp and his wife.

This is the third time I have had a photo win this contest, the first time being in 2015 with my photo of “Providence Canyon”, and again in 2017 the “Satilla River”, to go along with this year of the “Great Blue Heron in the Okefenokee.”

My photo will be on display in the Governor’s office for one year.

I plan on having much of my artwork in the Art Gallery in Folkston owned by Tim Bass very soon.
