Hayward Bowens, 74, peacefully went from labor to reward Sunday, February 1, 2026, at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
He was born March 19, 1951, in Hoboken to the late Peter and Bessie Mae
Bowens. He received his formal education in the public schools of Ware County and was faithfully employed by LC Lee Farms for many years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael L. Nixon and a host of siblings.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory two sons, Heyward Nixon (Cynthia) and David Nixon, both of Hoboken; two grandchildren, Devante and Aubrey Nixon, both of Brookman and a host of nieces, nephews, sorrowing friends and loved ones, A celebration of his life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, from the Solid Rock Christian Ministries, Inc., in Hoboken.
