WARNER ROBINS — Ware County’s regular season Region 1-AAAA champion Gators made it a clean sweep winning the tournament title here Friday night, February 13 beating Wayne County 67-44 in the finals. According to Athletic Director Matt Collins, the championship was the first for the program since 2001. Ware County will host Region 8’s fourth-seed in the opening round of the Class 5A state tournament scheduled to start Wednesday, March 4. Region 8 will play its region tournament this week.
