Satilla Riverkeeper cleanup set Feb. 21 The Satilla Riverkeeper will hold a river cleanup from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, at various locations along the Satilla River.

SFW celebrates Arbor Day, Feb. 21 Southern Forest World , 1440 N. Augusta Avenue, observes World Arbor Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, February 21.
Trees will be given away during the day with a demonstration at 11:30 a.m. on the correct way to plant one.
Smokey Bear and Sparky will be on hand, and there will be several book readings for children during the day. Big Willie’s barbecue will be there for food and beverages purchases.
SGRC aging panel meets Feb. 25 The Aging Advisory Council of the Southern Georgia Regional Commission’s Area Agency on Aging will meet at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 25 at the Nashville Community Center, 102 North Jefferson Street.

Tyre family has reunion March 7 The annual family reunion of the descendants of John Tyre, his first wife, Mary Jane Lightsey Tyre, and his second wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Eason Tyre, will be Saturday, March 7, at the Long Branch Community Center, 3419 Long Branch Rd., Bristol, in Appling County.
