WAYCROSS — Mrs. Wendy Marsh Thornton, 58, of Waycross, died Saturday morning, February 14, 2026, at Harborview Satilla in Waycross after an extended illness.

She was born in Elyria, Ohio to the late William Ralph Marsh and Shirley Elaine Norman Marsh. Mrs. Thornton has made her home in Waycross since 1979. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in education and taught at Headstart in Waycross. She left teaching to own and operate her own boutique, “Breezy’s,” located on City Boulevard in Waycross.

Mrs. Thornton enjoyed making jewelry, going to the beach and attending music festivals. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lynn Thornton, and three brothers, Bill Marsh, Mike Marsh and Mark Marsh.

Mrs. Thornton is survived by three children, Shayne Thornton of Athens, Dusty Thornton (April) of Blackshear, and Megan Hare (Stephen) of Waycross; three grandchildren, Conner Thrift, Grant Thrift, and Amy Hare; one sister, Lynne Marsh of Waycross; her adopted son, Tony Lopez of Athens; her adopted sister, Shari Scurry of Waycross; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held on at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 19 at LL Creek Bar and Grill. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
