SGRC Council to meet, Feb. 26 A meeting of the Southern Georgia Regional Commission Council is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, February 26, 2026. The meeting will be held at the SGRC Waycross Office located at 1725 S. Georgia Parkway W., Waycross, GA 31503.

This meeting is open to the public.

Fiber Art Exhibit to be held Mar. 1-24 The Okefenokee Heritage Center will host a Fiber Art Exhibit presented by the South Georgia Modern Quilt Guild from March 1 to March 24. The exhibit will feature a wide variety of fiber art pieces, including traditional and modern quilts, hand-dyed items, and needlework of all types. Dogwood Festival in Jesup, Mar. 21 The Wayne County Arts Council (WCAC) is hosting the Dogwood Festival again this year. The Dogwood Festival will take place 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. March 21 in Jesup.

The Dogwood Festival is in its 49th year. The event offers live local entertainment, handcrafted arts and crafts, awesome food vendors and much more.

Diabetes support group meets first Saturdays

The Talki Foundation’s monthly support group for people in Ware County and surrounding areas with diabetes and their caregivers will hold meetings the first Saturday of every month.

The support group meets 11 a.m. in the Hospital Annex Classroom, 1800 Alice Street, Waycross. Upcoming dates include: March 7, April 4, May 2 and June 6.

The support group, called 912 Diabetes Initiative support group provides educational resources and a chance to connect with others. Talki Foundation President Charlie Komons facilitates the monthly meeting which is hosted by Memorial Satilla Health.

Adult education classes offered in Patterson

Adult education classes are back in session in Pierce County. Classes are held at Eagle Station, 3507 Williams Street, Patterson.

Brenée Wright is the adjunct instructor of Adult Education in Pierce County.

Classes are offered through Coastal Pines Technical College.

Class schedules are from 3:30-8 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
