ALMA — Mr. Samuel McArthur, 73 of Alma, passed away Saturday afternoon, February 7, 2026, at his residence.

Born January 11, 1953, in Waycross, McArthur was a son of the late Charles William McArthur, Sr. and Margaret Justice McArthur. He grew up in Chesterland, Ohio, and graduated from West Geauga High School.

McArthur lived most of his adult life in Ware and Bacon Counties. He had worked as a parts manager for Suns hine Toyota, a service manager for Crosby Nissan Pontiac, but retired as owner and operator of S&T Farms.

McArthur was a member of Lees Chapel Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Terrie Kirkland McArthur; a brother, Charles William McArthur, Jr.; and his inlaws, Riley Dalton Kirkland and Geneva Boyett Bacon (husband Pete).

Survivors include his three daughters, Tammy McArthur Gardner (husband Chris) of Baxley, Christy Strickland (husband Joc) of Blackshear , and Samantha Lee (husband Lester) of Hoboken; eight grandchildren, Darrell Westberry, Brandon Seevers (Krista), Leah Theus (Duke), Destiny Lee, Cassidy Lee, Samuel Lee, Tessa Strickland and Tealee Strickland; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kevin McArthur (wife Angie) of Blackshear and Richard McArthur of Waycross; a sister, Dorothy Jane Woodard of Virginia; two brothers-inlaw, Tim Kirkland (wife Jerri) of West Virginia and Chris Kirkland of Waynesville; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service was held Saturday, February 14 at Lees Chapel Baptist Church in Nicholls.
